Mary, Queen of Angels won "
Innovator of the Year
" Award from Leading Age Tennessee for the program focusing on giving purpose to life. The goal of the program is to help therapy patients intergate into the assisted living community and current residents to find new meaning and purpose through the activites specific for the program.
Stepping Stones Activities
The Project Partners - Volunteer program that serves the community. Residents make items, such as blankets, teddy bears and quilts for local childerns hospital and police department. Scraps from the above projects are used to make puppy toys that are donated to the local Humane Society..
Community Integration Groups - Puzzle projects, low vision projects and other on campus small groups focus is to enable participation into daily living. These small groups provide more one-on-one attention to project to create successful outcomes.
Computer Connections Program - Communication via Skype, on-line games and e-mail. Residents use the computer system and wifi to network with family and friends via the internet. This helps to maintain family and friend contacts that are vital to healthy living.
